Steven “ESPO” Powers Love Letters to Philadelphia

ESPO with the help of Mural Arts Philadelphia has created the single largest street art project by a solo artist in the United States. With over 50 large scale works, ESPO has covered most of West Philadelphia with these incredible murals. Each one is funny, well crafted, and adds a sense of adventure to the Philly commute. Here are some photos of the murals we took during a visit this month.

The first Icy sign we ran into (Icy signs is the name of Power’s sign company)  was in the north end of Philly above Fish Town. This work with its clean letter styling pays tribute to singer songwriter Kurt Vile.

Just for curiosity’s sake here is a song of Vile’s so you can understand why he is honored by Espo.

Next Powers reminds us about the power of patience.
