Graffiti Art Summer Camp in Brooklyn
Graffiti Summer Camp is a super fun artsy and creative way to spend your summer. Taught by local Brooklyn artists, give your kids the gift of creativity this summer. Help them learn the tips and techniques of aerosol art, from fill-ins to masterpieces, as they immerse themselves in graffiti art culture.
Format: A typical morning will begin with a street art adventure where we will tour a cool and unique neighborhood in NYC. The tour will focus on seeing what is really going on in terms of the modern day street art of New York city. After the Street art tour we will convene in the Graff tours studio for a graffiti drawing class which will include sketching and brainstorming. We then break for lunch (bring your own). After lunch we have special guest workshops from local artists in things like calligraphy and film. The afternoon is typically filled with hands on aerosol painting class. At the end of the week, campers will take all completed work home to make for great memories.
Timing: This unique hands-on summer camp will be offered as 1 week sessions. Each 1 week session will take place Monday thru Friday 9 a.m to 3 p.m.
Where: The workshop takes place in and around our beautiful Brooklyn art studio in the heart of Bushwick Brooklyn. Cultivating creative thought and a welcoming environment, this experience is designed for all ages and talent levels. Our Brooklyn Art Studio is located at 282 Meserole st. in Bushwick Brooklyn. The closest subway stop is the Montrose L Train stop.
What It Includes: We supply paint, canvas, gloves, studio time, and of course, a NYC graffiti artist.
What to Bring: Bring your own lunch as none is provided. Wear casual clothes (nothing you would regret getting paint on). The paint does come off, but it gives everyone less anxiety if you don’t wear a gown or a tux.
Age: 9 and up
